Agate was a renowned Rancher from a far off land. She had packed her ship to set sail with a fresh batch of livestock for trade in the markets. She looked to the skies and saw that there was a storm brewing, but her determination was set. For how many times had she come ahead building her own little paradise from nothing. She knelt before her alter and prayed to Fo to fill her sails with wind and keep her and her animals safe from harm and she boarded her ship. She felt as though nothing could come between her and her goals. She looked around her at her home already wishing she'd be home again without even having set foot on the docks. She set sail without a care to the winds for a far off deed on the other side of the continent. Farther than she had ever braved to go before. However the storm had picked up and Fo had abandoned her. Her pride was her own undoing as the waves crashed the sides of her ship. Soon she lost sight of the shore as the ocean pulled her farther and farther from her home. Try as she might to regain control of her ship it would not heel. The winds roared around her and her eyes grew wide with terror as she spotted a wave as high as the old Cathedral came crashing down on her. Everything went dark. When she came to she was somehow ashore but all remnants of her ship and livestock were gone from her. She looked up and saw the wondrous Vynora standing there in all her glory. She looked down on her and smiled “Traveler I have brought you here to start anew. I wipe from you your knowledge so that you may praise me with your learning. Arise now child and find your new path. The lands you come from are closed to you now, you may never return. They no longer require you there but here in this land they will.” Tears streamed down Agate’s face as the words the Goddess spoke sunk in. Her home is once again lost to her. She grieved for a moment but then remembered she is a survivor she has done this before she can do it again. She scrambled to her knees and bowed with her face to the new Earth below her. “My lady I accept your will into my heart and mind. I will do as you command. All I ask is in your divinity look after my dear creatures and friends that I have lost. I will make you proud.” The Goddess smiled as she nodded and her avatar turned and left her there alone on the shores. Agate felt alone for the first time in a long time. She refused to think of this as a loss but instead an opportunity. Soon she will meet and make new friends and all will be well. She will rebuild and relearn what was lost to her. For who is she to question the Gods.
