How long has it been since I betrayed my brothers and sisters...it feels like years. The time feels like nothing now..I can only look back and know my choice was right.
Lexicus, the black hawk, a former member of the Black guard, the force responsible for marching on towns and villages and burning them to the ground in the name of the dark gods, finds himself in Vrystoria after being harbored and smuggled out of the previous world where he stood his ground fighting against his old comrades. There was a hiccup in his morals...a village trying to flee the bloodshed after the capital had been taken. There came a moment of compassion as Lexicus stared at the fear in their faces and knew this was a time he would let them free. His unit moved on the village looking to slaughter the people and burn the houses. The black hawk refused, telling his troops he would slay any who tried to assault the villagers.
The fight lasted for nearly an hour as body after body piled up against the flow and flurry of swordsmanship. When the dust cleared, Lexicus was the only one left who could fight. Bleeding and exhausted, Lexicus was treated by those he had saved. They citizens took him in to patch his wounds then left him to the gods. Lexicus was spared for about a week, he spent that time healing, eating, and repairing his equipment. When the village came under fire again, the black hawk pulled away, leaving nothing but a ghost town for the black guard to burn to the ground. As fate would have it, Lexicus met up with the refugees trying to escape. He secured a deal to be smuggled out as long as he could hold back the black guard for their retreat. He managed to aide in the retreat of the villagers but at the cost of mortal wounds leaving him fighting for his life. Lexicus was healed back to life by a priest, at the cost of suffering 'rebirth sickness' a massive strain of his mind and body.
Now being in Vrystoria, Lexicus hopes to gain his strength and hold the line against the black guard however he can. With the word of evil rearing it's ugly head around the corner, the black hawk took up what strength he had to regain the power he lost so he could at least keep this world from suffering the fate he inflicted upon worlds time after time.
